With sustainability at the forefront, Pico de Loro Beach & Country Club and Pico Sands Hotel took the effort to gather used papers and cardboard collected across all departments to be turned over to Batangas Paper Corporation. The local paper mill company uses 100% recycled products and has received metric tons of used paper and cardboard from the properties. These raw materials will be transformed into products like trays for distribution to the poultry industry and paper rolls that are supplied nationwide.
Pico de Loro Beach & Country Club and Pico Sands Hotel General Manager Maxi Gavino says, “We are glad to partner and be sustainable allies with a local paper mill company that prioritizes a 360-degree recycling process in their products.”
Emerson Mita, Batangas Paper Corporation’s Logistics Trucking and Services Manager, shared that the company is upholding sustainability through their recycling process by collecting post-consumer reclaimed materials from bailing stations before transporting them to the mill. These recycled papers will then be delivered to the market for consumption.
This collaboration exemplifies how businesses can work together for a greater cause, ensuring that future generations will inherit a world as vibrant and full of potential as the one we live in today.
By partnering with environmentally conscious companies like Batangas Paper Corporation, Pico de Loro Beach & Country Club and Pico Sands Hotel are making strides towards reducing our carbon footprint and promoting a circular economy. The properties’ commitment to sustainability goes beyond recycling, as consistent information and education sessions are being conducted for the staff, guests, and key stakeholders on the importance of environmental stewardship
