History of Casa Vallejo:
Casa Vallejo is a century-old boutique hotel established back in 1902. During this time, Casa Vallejo was referred to as Dormitory 4. It was built by the Americans to house construction workers who helped build Baguio City.
In 1917, it was used as a detention center during the American Colonial Period in the Philippines. The structure was built using wood, galvanized iron, and sawali.
In 1923, Don Salvador Vallejo leased dormitory 4. Together with his wife, Justina, the Spanish Immigrant converted Dormitory 4 into a hotel named after him.
In 1940, it was again converted into a British and Indian refugee center. It survived the carpet bombing by Imperial Japan in 1941 during World War II.
In 1997, it converted again into a hotel and has gone through structural inspection, renovation, and preservation efforts in 2007.
In 2019, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines recognized Casa Vallejo as a historic site.
